The person applying for a new Lebanese biometric passport must attend the Embassy in person, according to the applicable eligibility and application requirements.
Eligibility to apply for a new biometric passport
For a first-time biometric passport application, the applicant must be under 15 years old, or 60 years old and above.
Applicants aged 15 to 59 are not eligible to apply for a biometric passport for the first time.
Passport version “2003”
According to General Directorate of General Security instructions, passports version “2003” may be manually renewed once, for two years.
Required documents
Please bring the following documents to your appointment:
Current Lebanese passport
Lebanese identification displaying a photo
Current Australian visa or a valid Australian passport
Three passport-size photos
A1 form
The A1 form is completed at the Embassy together with your passport application.
Processing time
Normal process
3–4 months
Normal processing time for a passport application ranges between 3 and 4 months.
A self-addressed, prepaid or stamp-affixed envelope must be brought to your appointment.
Express DHL service
Minimum 2 weeks
An express service is available through DHL. Payment for this service is separate from the passport application fee.

How to use the express DHL service
- Complete the online application on the DHL Fast Track website.
- Print the 11-page document, single-sided.
- Bring the printed document to the Embassy with your required documents at your appointment.
